Discussion Page

The Discussion page centralizes all customer communications directly within an accord, creating organized and contextual conversations that keep your sales playbooks moving forward.

How a Discussion in Accord works

The Discussion page appears within each accord by default, and functions as a dedicated conversation space for your team and customers.

Unlike scattered email threads or apps like Slack and Teams, the Discussion page keeps all conversations embedded within the accord alongside deal context, resources, and next steps.


What to know:

  • When you send a message using a Discussion, it appears in real-time for all users that have access to the accord it’s embedded in. 
  • Messages are organized chronologically and remain permanently accessible within the accord, making it easy to reference past conversations and maintain continuity throughout the sales process.

Who can see and participate in a Discussion

  • Visibility: Every message is visible to all users—both internal team members and customers—who have access to an accord. There is no option to create internal-only messages or send private messages to specific individuals within a discussion.
  • Participation: All users—both internal team members and customers—with access to an accord can send messages and be @-mentioned in messages.

Notifications for New Messages

  • An accord’s point person will automatically receive emails and in-app notifications for all new messages.
  • Users following an accord will automatically receive email and in-app notifications for all new messages. These notifications can be toggled off in the Settings section.
  • Other users will receive notification when they are @ mentioned in a message. These notifications are controlled by the existing "someone @mentions me" notification preference, which can be toggled on or off in the Settings section.

Making a Discussion Internal-only

An admin or accord point person can make a discussion “internal-only” by following these steps:

  • Go to an accord or playbook
  • Navigate to "Manage Tabs" 
  • Toggle off “Discussion” so it’s internal-only

Important: When a Discussion is toggled off within an accord, it becomes an internal-only discussion that just your team can participate in. However, customers will be able to see a discussion’s entire history if it is toggled back on at any point.
