### What is the Accord MCP Connector?

Deal context rarely lives in one place. Support platforms, product analytics, and internal databases all hold details that shape how an account should be handled. When Accord Agents can only see what's in Accord and your CRM, they miss that context, and adding another data source has usually required a custom integration and an engineering ticket.

The Accord MCP Connector connects Accord Agents to external MCP servers from the third-party tools your team already uses. A workspace admin adds a server once from **Settings → Accord Intelligence → MCP Connectors**, and Accord Agents can draw on that tool's data when they prepare and propose their work. Accord stores the list of tools each connected server makes available.

For example, if your team tracks implementation work in a tool that offers an MCP server, such as Jira, an admin can add that server as a connector named "Jira Tools" without writing any code.

#### MCP Connectors vs. the Accord MCP Server

Accord has two MCP features. The [Accord MCP Server](https://collaboration.inaccord.com/knowledge/accord-mcp-server-setup-and-usage?hsLang=en) shares Accord data in and out to AI clients like Claude or Cursor. MCP Connectors connect Accord Agents to external (third-party)MCP servers so agents can pull third-party context into your deals.

### Prerequisites

Before adding an MCP Connector, make sure you have:

- **Access to Accord Agents:** MCP Connectors extend Accord Agents, so your workspace needs Accord Agents enabled. See the availability note above.
- **The right role in Accord:** Only Workspace Admins can add and manage MCP Connectors.
- **The server's URL:** The MCP endpoint for the tool you want to connect, for example "[https://mcp-server.example.com/mcp](https://mcp-server.example.com/mcp)". The tool's own documentation usually lists it.
- **Credentials for the tool, if required:** Either an account that can complete an OAuth sign-in, or an API token or personal access token generated in that tool.

### Adding an MCP Connector (Admins)

Only Workspace Admins can add, edit, disable, or remove MCP Connectors.

**To add an MCP Connector:**

1. Navigate to **Settings → Accord Intelligence → MCP Connectors**.
2. Click **Add MCP Connector**.
3. In **Name**, enter a name your team will recognize, for example, "Jira Tools".
4. In **URL**, paste the server's MCP endpoint.
5. Select an **Authentication** method. See Choosing an Authentication Method below.
6. Under **Access Scope**, choose **Company-wide** or **User-specific**. See Choosing an Access Scope below.
7. Click **Add Connector**.

The new connector appears in the MCP Connectors table with its **Name**, **URL**, **Auth**, **Scope**, and **Status**.

#### Choosing an Authentication Method

The **Authentication** menu offers three options. Pick the one the server supports.

- **None:** For servers that don't require authentication.
- **OAuth:** For servers that support OAuth sign-in. Accord finds the server's sign-in details automatically, so the server must publish OAuth discovery metadata at /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server or /.well-known/openid-configuration. If it doesn't, the connection fails and you should use **API Token (Bearer)** instead.
- **API Token (Bearer):** For servers that authenticate with a static API token or personal access token. Accord sends the token with each request as a bearer token.

**Note:** Accord never displays a saved API token after you add it. Keep a copy in your password manager if you'll need it again.

### Managing MCP Connectors

Every connector in your workspace is listed on **Settings → Accord Intelligence → MCP Connectors**. The **Status** column shows whether the connector is ready to use. A connector that still needs authentication shows **Not Connected**.

#### Connecting Your Account to a User-Specific Connector

For a **User-specific** connector, every user who wants agents to use their access must connect their own account.

**To connect your account:**

1. Navigate to **Settings → Accord Intelligence → MCP Connectors**.
2. Click the three-dot menu at the end of the connector's row.
3. Click **Connect Your Account**.
4. Complete the sign-in for the third-party tool.

#### Editing, Disabling, and Removing a Connector

The three-dot menu at the end of each row holds the management options.

- **Edit:** Change the connector's settings.
- **Disable:** Turn the connector off without deleting it.
- **Remove:** Delete the connector from your workspace.

### How Accord Agents Use MCP Connectors

Once a connector is added and authenticated, Accord Agents can draw on the tools that the server provides as added context for their work. Note: All agents in Accord use the same "human in the loop" control model. Nothing is written to Accord until a user in Accord approves it.

### Troubleshooting

**OAuth fails because the server's sign-in details can't be found.**

Some MCP servers don't publish OAuth discovery metadata, so Accord can't start the sign-in. Snowflake's MCP server is one example. Add the connector with **Authentication** set to **API Token (Bearer)** and paste a token or personal access token generated in that tool.

**A user-specific connector shows Not Connected.**

User-specific connectors need each user to authenticate. Open the row's three-dot menu and click **Connect Your Account**.
