Every new Accord has a summary that holds the account context and business case. Yet writing it by hand is admin work that usually loses to the next meeting on the calendar. As a result, reps leave summaries blank or fill them with generic template text, undermining buyer confidence and credibility right when buyers start engaging. Summary Auto-Generate drafts the summary sections when a new Accord is created from a playbook. It builds the draft from the playbook's positioning, prompts, and structure, along with CRM detail, contacts, any linked call transcripts, and Accord Intelligence research. After it runs, reps open their Accord to a tailored draft that already follows your team's methodology. Summary Auto-Generate writes the first draft. After that, the Summary Update Agent suggests ongoing updates to the summary as new call transcripts are linked to the Accord. In addition, reps can still use the Accord Intelligence button to generate an individual section on demand. **Note:** Summary Auto-Generate uses the same "human in the loop" control model as all agents in Accord. The rep can edit everything in the draft and review it before buyers see it. ### Prerequisites Summary Auto-Generate requires Playbook Positioning to run. The other items below give the agent more to draft from. **Playbook Positioning:** The agent only runs on Accords created from a playbook with Playbook Positioning filled in. See [Best Practices for Playbook Positioning](https://collaboration.inaccord.com/knowledge/accord-intelligence-playbook-context-best-practices?hsLang=en). **Summary section prompts:** The agent builds each draft from the playbook's context, prompts, and structure. Give each section of the playbook's Summary page a header and content suggestions so the draft matches what you expect in that section. See [Accord Intelligence Overview & Using it to Populate Summary Pages](https://collaboration.inaccord.com/knowledge/accord-intelligence-setup-guide?hsLang=en). **CRM connection:** Gives the agent the opportunity and contact details to draft from. **Meeting Intelligence:** Gives the agent transcripts from calls linked to the Accord when it's created, from [Gong](https://collaboration.inaccord.com/knowledge/connect-accord-to-gong?hsLang=en), [Zoom](https://collaboration.inaccord.com/knowledge/connect-accord-to-zoom?hsLang=en), or other call recording tools. ### Configuring Summary Auto-Generate Summary Auto-Generate has two controls. Workspace admins manage the workspace toggle, which turns the agent on for the whole workspace. Playbook owners manage the **Auto Summary** toggle on each playbook. This toggle determines which playbooks the agent drafts for. Both must be on for the agent to run. #### Enabling Summary Auto-Generate Summary Auto-Generate is available for workspaces with Accord Agents. To check it or turn it off, a workspace admin navigates to **Settings → Accord Intelligence → Agents** and uses the toggle next to **Summary Auto-Generate**. ![screenshot-1792941908295-0](https://collaboration.inaccord.com/hs-fs/hubfs/screenshot-1792941908295-0.png?width=670&height=176&name=screenshot-1792941908295-0.png) #### Turning On Auto Summary for a Playbook If the Accord Auto Summary Agent is enabled at the workspace level, playbooks are toggled on by default. In addition, playbooks can generate the banner automatically; this is also on by default. **To change the Auto Summary setting for a playbook:** 1. Go to **Playbooks**. 2. Click the **⋮** menu next to the playbook. 3. Select **Manage Agents**. 4. Toggle **Auto Summary** on or off. 5. It runs when all of the following are true: - Summary Auto-Generate is on in **Settings → Accord Intelligence → Agents** - **Auto Summary** is on for the playbook - The playbook has Playbook Positioning filled in - The Accord was created from the playbook (duplicated Accords don't trigger the agent) - **The Accord is tied to a customer domain** While the agent works, the summary sections show a loading state. If a run fails, the agent retries up to three times. ### Reviewing Your Draft Summary When the draft is ready, the rep is notified in-app and via email (depending on notification configuration). **To review the draft:** 1. Open the Accord and go to its **Summary** page. 2. Read each drafted section and check it against what you know about the deal. 3. Edit any section directly. The agent only fills summary sections that are still empty or haven't been edited since the Accord was created. To regenerate a section later, use the Accord Intelligence button on that section. - The agent currently drafts rich-text summary sections only. - Summary sections that pull values from your CRM keep the CRM value. ### Troubleshooting **No draft appeared on a new Accord.** Check that Summary Auto-Generate is on in **Settings → Accord Intelligence → Agents**, that **Auto Summary** is on for the playbook, and that the playbook has Playbook Positioning filled in. **A duplicated Accord has no draft.** This is intentional. A duplicate already carries content from the original Accord, so the agent doesn't run on it. **Some sections stayed blank.** The agent skips sections that were edited before it ran. If a section stayed blank after the agent finished, use the Accord Intelligence button to generate it. **The draft is light on detail.** The agent drafts from what Accord knows when it's created. An Accord created before the first call, with no CRM opportunity connected, gives the agent less to work from.
